The UK’s leading provider of library management systems to education, and Capita SIMS, the market leader in Management Information Systems to the education and Children’s Services sector, have announced a landmark partnership ensuring full integration of all MLS systems with SIMS and exposure of library data and resources in the Learning Gateway.

Schools will benefit from the simplified management and reduced workload of integrating ‘real-time’ Capita SIMS pupil data directly into the library management system.

MLS have recognised the importance of developing integration with the Learning Gateway and since doing so have created a huge amount of success integrating and extending their web based library management system, Eclipse.net. This development has enabled MLS to expand their product portfolio whilst also driving competencies in new technologies including Microsoft Silverlight. The benefits realised by this type of innovation are felt directly by the parents, teachers and students through an interactive and information rich tapestry of web parts all focused on enhancing literacy in our schools and homes.

The partnership will enhance the benefits of choosing MLS systems in the 22,000 schools already using the Capita SIMS suite of products. Over 10,000 schools already use MLS systems to transform reading and literacy and will now benefit from the most integrated library management and MIS systems available.
