Whether it’s an idea for a new feature or functionality, the Change Requests area of My Account has proved invaluable in providing our product managers with feedback on how we can enhance our software. It’s why we’ve extended the permissions within this area, which means that any users of our products can raise and vote on change requests, regardless of who you’re supported by.
The Change Requests area of My Account gives customers a platform to submit their idea and allows other users to be able to vote on it. The requests with the highest vote scores are then brought to the attention of the relevant product manager to review and could be implemented into a future SIMS release.
How do I find a change request?
It is easy to locate the change requests that users have submitted - simply click on the Customer Service tab at the top of My Account and then select the ‘View change requests’ option.
From this screen, you can use the filters to find the requests that you are interested in. For example, you might want to search by product, within a certain timeframe, or by status such as ‘considered for a future release’.
Once a set of search results are displayed, you can click on the column headers to further modify the sort order of your search.
Voting on change requests
Once you have found a change request you are interested in, you can vote whether to ‘agree’ or ‘disagree’. In both instances, you will then be able to see the total vote score of the change request in the top right of the screen.
You’ll also be able to see the status of each change request on the left side of the screen, as well as any comments from the relevant product manager. These will be added to the ‘Product Manager’s Status Update’ field, and if you have created the request or have voted on it, you will automatically receive an email whenever the status changes.
Creating a new change request
If you have an idea yourself that you would like us to consider in our software and share with other users, then it’s an easy process to create your own change request. You can log a new change request by navigating to the Customer Service dropdown and selecting ‘Log a change request’.
All you need to do is fill out a short form with a few details including a title, brief description and which product it relates to. Once submitted, your change request will go live on My Account for others users to be able to vote on your idea straightaway.
