It's BETT this week and although we have decided not to exhibit this year (you can read about why in Graham Cooper's latest blog), we are still committed to finding new ways to delight our customers. As such we are proud to announce our latest integration evolution, as SIMS Assessment now extends its connections more broadly within Microsoft Education suite to cover not only OneNote Class Notebooks but now Microsoft Teams too.
Following on from BETT last year when we announced that Capita SIMS was the first MIS in the UK to synchronise class data with Microsoft OneNote, this year our collaboration with Microsoft Education continues to go from strength to strength as we announce yet another UK first: assignment grade write back into SIMS Assessment is now supported within Microsoft Teams, simplifying the creation of SIMS cohorts within Teams considerably!
The new integration will reduce the time it takes to set up and connect your class of students as the cohort is already known and will make all of the connections for you, so as you create and mark assignments, students results can be passed back into SIMS reducing administrative burden and saving teachers even more time.
We're really excited to be able to support teachers and schools in this way, with the freedom to use systems and tools that suit their ways of working, safe in the knowledge that information recorded can transfer seamlessly back into SIMS.
And in a more general sense, this kind of partnership demonstrates the fresh approach we have to working with third party providers – recognising that schools all have their own individual practices and preferences towards specific systems and applications.
With that in mind, we’re doing everything possible to put schools first when it comes to developing and re-shaping our solutions. We understand that teachers, senior leaders and schools generally are moving towards increasingly smarter ways of working, so we want to ensure that SIMS is capable of supporting that.
The synchronisation of identities between SIMS, SDS and O365, to provide a single login for each user and drive the Microsoft Teams and OneNote integrations, takes place within our SIMS ID management suite that is included within SIMS at no additional cost, so it’s ready to use straight away.
